Rhodes Cottage Tea Room should open late August 2022
The launching of a charming tea room in the old Managers Cottage of Rhodes Cottage Museum makes sense in that the Cottage has a spectacular elevated garden with a delightful view the False Bay. In addition to this there is easy access from the pedestrian pavement as well as parking next to the Museum. It is believed that the Tea room would provide job opportunities and welcome additional income for the Museum who’s upkeep and curators rely mostly on donations.
Calling for donations for the Tea Room
We would like to make the Tea Room fun using old-ish tea cups and plates, with quirky tea spoons, cake folks and unusual pictures and objects and furniture like chairs and tables.
The tea room should reflect the type of people who live in the area that have always enjoyed taking out the porcelain and enjoying a good chat and meeting interesting people. We would like to get locals back in supporting the Museum and it’s local tea room – to catch up with the news, meet people and enjoy the diversity of Fynbos in the garden and on the cliffs.
If you would like to make a donation, please let us know- old chairs, small tables, folks, plates, tea and coffee cups and fun images mainly of the area.
