Young African Filmakers seek inspiration at Rhodes Cottage Museum
The Rhodes Cottage Museum was visited by over 20 aspiring young Black filmakers on Saturday 28 January.
The group from the Smartphone Filmaking Programme was organised by the Western Cape Government Arts and Culture department headed up by Seemah Toefy.
Tony Rosemeyer the Rhodes Cottage Museum Curator led an inspired tour of the Museum with introducing to the group to Rhodes incredible contribution to South Africa especially its transformation from an agrarian to industrialised based economy. Recently there has been a surge in positive interest especially amongst Black youth about Rhodes role in South African History and economics.
